This six-course, online Manning Certificate Program will equip you with skills and resources necessary to build a rewarding career in gerontology, and provides current practitioners the credentials to advance. You will gain an understanding of the aging network and aging process through direct service, research, field placements, social and public policy, and legislative advocacy for older people.

In this program, you will:

• Gain a deep understanding of the physiological, psychological, social, and economic aspects of aging, allowing you to critically analyze the complexities of aging and develop innovative strategies to enhance the well-being of older adults
• Acquire research and practical skills in gerontology, including program planning and evaluation, policy analysis, geriatric assessment, and working with diverse populations, preparing you for leadership roles in geriatric care, policy, research, and advocacy
• Cultivate a person-centered and compassionate approach to working with older adults, fostering empathy, cultural competence, and ethical decision-making in your interactions with older individuals, families, and communities

Career Possibilities

Coordinate and manage programs and services for older adults in government agencies, non-profit organizations, or community centers, addressing their social, health, and economic needs. Work with healthcare providers to develop and implement effective care plans.
