Office of the Controller
Our Mission
The mission of the Controller's Office is to support and enhance the academic, research, and public service activities of the University of Massachusetts Boston by providing effective and efficient financial services to the university community while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations and policies.
The Controller's Office is responsible for financial accounting and reporting, fiscal operations and audits, tax compliance, payments to vendors and business travel.
Announcement:
- Tax year 2023 forms will be mailed to students soon. If you have received aid or income from the university, in accordance with IRS regulations, you may expect to receive a 1099, 1098-T, or 1042-S (non-resident alien). Please refer to the this Student Tax Form FAQs 2023 for additional information. We recommend consulting with your tax preparer to understand how to handle this information.
