Professor Benson’s research interests include American cultural history; girls’ series books, such as Nancy Drew; heroines of 1960s and 70s TV; the history of women in higher education; the history and development of the field of home economics; and women’s professional organizations.
Her first book, Moxie and a Good Sense of Balance Nancy Drew and the Power of the Teenage Girl, is schedule for publication at the end of 2018 by Hamilton Books, an imprint of Rowland & Littlefield Publishing.
