Mobile Computer Lab–Laptops and iPads

IT Lab Operations maintains Mobile Laptop carts for classrooms and other university uses. Our Windows laptops are equipped with wireless access, web browsers, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and more. Other applications can be installed with advanced notice as allowable. 
 
Note: Requests for the mobile classroom (iPads or Laptops) must be made at least TWO weeks in advance to allow for proper scheduling, delivery, and updating of the equipment.

For emergency reservations, please be prepared to pick up and return the mobile cart yourself.

Submit all requests through our online Mobile Carts scheduling platform: BookIT 
Bookit.umb.edu/

Then choose the cart location that fits your needs on top of the page at “See all others.”

Mobile Cart Reservation: 

The mobile classroom carts are stationed in the Classroom Technology and AV Services in McCormack Hall (M-2-112), University Hall (Y-1-1032A), and Wheatley Hall (W-1-039).

Note: Mobile Classroom carts are only available to on-campus locations that are serviceable.

• There is one laptop cart per media office that contains 25 laptops. Requests are approved or denied within 48 hours.
• Specify the location of the mobile cart (choose from McCormack, Wheatley, or University Hall), the time you wish to reserve it, the number of devices needed, and provide the list of people involved (roster).

If your class will need computers more than three times during the semester (for example, a full-semester course), we recommend requesting a physical computer lab through Bookit.  

To complete your reservation, provide the following information:

• How many students in your class will need laptops? (Many students may bring their own devices.)
• Where will the class be held?
• Where is the course name?
• Does the class require any specific software?

Mobile Classroom Hours of Availability: 

Office hours differ during breaks, holidays and summer. Please check with the building AV office for current hours.
