In 1968, the Puerto Rican community of the Parcel 19 in the South End organized, and with the support of hundreds of protesters, they fought to stop the displacement they were facing. They finally won this battle and created IBA, which not only allowed them to stay in the neighborhood but also gave them the right to control and develop their community.

The Meeting Point
The Meeting Point is committed to meeting the needs of underserved populations, particularly GLBTQ identified individuals, people who have experienced trauma, and those with physical and/or emotional disabilities.

Black Latinas Know Collective (BLKC)
The Black Latinas Know Collective is a collective of Black Latina scholars,producers of innovative  knowledge, contributors to the study of Latinidad and blackness.

Centro: Center for Puerto Rican Studies
Founded in 1973 by a coalition of faculty, students, and community leaders, Centro is the only university-based research institute solely devoted to the interdisciplinary study of the Puerto Rican experience in the United States.

CUNY Dominican Studies Institute
The Dominican Studies Institute of the City University of New York is the nation's first university-based research institute devoted to the study of people of Dominican descent in the United States and other parts of the world.

Hemispheric Institute
