Public Programs
MOPC works with MA state and local government agencies, communities, and residents on a variety of initiatives.
Affordable Housing Mediation Program: Mediates Ch. 40B affordable housing development disputes brought before the Housing Appeals Committee of the Exec. Ofc of Housing & Livable Communities.
Agricultural Mediation Program: Mediates agricultural loan and sustainable farming disputes, in partnership with USDA, MA Dept. of Agricultural Resources, and municipal commissions.
Community Mediation Center Grant Program: Advances the public mission of community mediation and allocates state operational funding to qualified local centers statewide.
Housing Mediation Program: Mediates housing disputes to promote housing stability in partnership with the Executive Office of Housing & Livable Communities and MassHousing.
Parent Mediation Program: Mediates child access and visitation disputes in partnership with the MA Department of Revenue Child Support Enforcement Division.
Public Deliberation Program: Helps communities address important and difficult public issues and move toward collective action through designing and holding deliberative dialogues.
Re-entry Mediation Program: Mediates for incarcerated people returning to the community, pre- and post-release, in partnership with MA Department of Correction and County Sheriffs and local post-release agencies.
Youth Conflict Resolution & Restorative Practices Program: Sponsors peer mediation programs and other conflict resolution projects in schools and communities with local partners.
