Transformative Equity Grant (TEG) Call for Proposals

The Restorative Justice Commission (RJC) is currently accepting applications for its Transformative Equity Grant.

The deadline to apply for the fall is February 20, 2026. Decisions will be sent out on or before March 1, 2026

The RJC Transformative Equity Grants are made available to all UMass Boston faculty, staff, and students seeking to address harm and or restorative justice within the UMass Boston Community. Project can include but are not limited to:

  • Campus based programming and community engagement activities relevant to the work of the RJC
  • Attendance at conferences or workshops related to the work of the RJC (bringing that knowledge back to UMB)
  • Research projects relevant to the work of the RJC
  • Working groups seeking to examine topics related to the work of the RJC

Grants are evaluated and awarded by the proposals committee of the Restorative Justice Commission of up to $5,000 to individuals or groups whose proposals meet the eligibility criteria. Please note, all awarded funds must be used during the current budget cycle 2025-2026, and applicants must use the web form on the RJC website located here. 

Please note the following:

  • A departmental speedtype will be required to transfer funds.
  • Students are required to submit a letter of support from their department noting that the department will serve as the student’s fund holder and support all grant related financial transactions.  
  • Those who receive funds are expected to submit a final report summarizing the funded project and evaluating its impact and outcomes at the conclusion of the funded project.
