Biography

Chris Denning’s work focuses on intervention research to support academic and social skill development, and successful inclusion practices for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). For the past three years he has been working with early childhood classrooms in the Quincy Public Schools to help preschool teachers implement motor development and physical activity programs for children with ASD.

Additional Information

This work is focusing upon effective adaptations of interventions for children with ASD and the development of sustainable programs at the school and classroom level.  He teaches courses in the Special Education Program in Moderate Disabilities at UMass Boston. Prior to coming to the College of Education and Human Development, he taught children with disabilities in Pre-K-12 settings in Virginia and worked as the autism specialist for the Piedmont Regional Education Program (PREP) in Charlottesville, VA.
