Additional Information

We primarily use X-ray crystallography coupled with biophysical and biochemical techniques to study the structures and functions of important biological systems, and most recently we are expanding into the area of cryo-electron microscopy to study certain systems. Our current research focuses on the following main areas:

  1. Mechanisms of hypermodification of nucleobases within DNA.
  2. Bacterial flavoproteins involved in sulfur acquisition from organosulfur compounds.
  3. Metalloenzymes as therapeutic targets.
  4. Natural product biosynthesis.
