Megan Rokop, PhD, became the associate director of UMass Boston's Honors Program in July 2013 and associate dean of the Honors College in January of 2015. Prior to her arrival, she spent 14 years at MIT, where she taught biology to undergraduate students, and directed the Educational Outreach Program at the Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard. Through the Educational Outreach Program, she established and ran a teaching lab dedicated to training thousands of Boston-area high school students in biomedical research. Rokop received her BS in biology from Brown University, and her PhD in biology from MIT, during which time she performed research in molecular biology and bacterial genetics.
