Biography

Tanya Barnett brings more than 15 years of experience to the Center for Collaborative Leadership at UMass Boston. Most recently, she co-founded and served as the managing partner of Inclusify.com, knowledge tech startup employing data driven strategies and shared accountability to create a sense of belonging for all in the workplace.

Prior to her work with Inclusify.com, Tanya was privileged to shape the lives and career trajectories of both undergraduate and graduate students at Ohio University—and then the University of Colorado Boulder—where she partnered to launch three distinctive leadership development programs. Most recently she launched the BE Tech Scholars program presented by Western Digital, with support from Fortune 500 companies including Deloitte, Dish, and Arrow. Through this program she worked to cultivate a more inclusive tech industry by equipping women studying business and engineering with the technical skills, action-based learning, career development, and access to the extensive network necessary to become influential leaders in technology.

Tanya is a published author and has completed the doctoral coursework toward her Ph.D. in Higher Education and Leadership. In addition, she holds a Master of Political Science from Ohio University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Rio Grande.

In her spare time, Tanya enjoys spending time with her partner and daughters—who inspire and challenge her in all the best ways. She is also a curious adventurer, lover of Hip Hop, and pour-over coffee enthusiast.
